Why I Take This One
I take this one because turmeric has that deep earthy warmth that feels grounding when my body is tired. The lemon keeps it from tasting heavy, honey softens the bitterness, and the black pepper gives it a sharp little finish that makes the whole thing wake up.
This shot feels slower and calmer than the ginger immunity one. When I make this, I am usually not chasing a burst of energy as much as I am asking my body to soften, settle, and recover from a long day or a hard week.

Here's What You'll Need
You will need one teaspoon of ground turmeric or a two inch piece of fresh turmeric root, a pinch of black pepper that is essential for absorption, half a teaspoon of coconut oil, one teaspoon of raw honey, the juice of half a lemon, and a quarter cup of warm water.
How I Make It
I add the warm water to the blender first because it helps the honey and coconut oil melt into the shot. Then I add turmeric, black pepper, lemon juice, and honey, and I blend until the mixture turns glossy and golden.
If I use fresh turmeric, I strain the shot through a fine mesh strainer so it pours smooth. If I use ground turmeric, I usually drink it as is and give it a quick stir right before sipping because the turmeric likes to settle at the bottom.
Made's Tips
Use warm water, not boiling water, because gentle warmth helps everything blend without flattening the fresh lemon flavor.
Do not skip the black pepper because that tiny pinch is the detail that makes this shot feel intentional.
Turmeric stains easily, so I rinse my blender and strainer right away before the golden color gets too comfortable.
