Why I Love This One
I love how hydrating this cooler feels. Watermelon does most of the work, mint makes it taste clean, and lime gives it that little lift that keeps you going back for another sip.
This is the smoothie I make when breakfast has already happened but I still want something nourishing. It is light, juicy, and perfect for the days when my body asks for water but my heart wants flavor.
Once the flavors are in your head, the rest is beautifully simple. Here is exactly how I make it in my own kitchen.
Here's What You'll Need
- Two cups of chilled watermelon cubes
- One half cup of coconut water
- Six fresh mint leaves
- The juice of one lime
- One tablespoon of chia seeds
- A small handful of ice
- One tiny pinch of sea salt
I like to gather everything before I start blending, because smoothies move fast once the blender is out.
Let's Blend It Together
Add the coconut water to the blender first so the watermelon has a little liquid to help it move.
Add the chilled watermelon, mint leaves, lime juice, chia seeds, ice, and sea salt.
Blend until the mint is finely mixed through and the drink looks rosy and frosty.
Let it rest for three minutes if you want the chia seeds to soften.
Pour into a tall glass and add an extra mint leaf on top if you are feeling pretty about it.
Made's Tips
Cold watermelon makes all the difference, so chill it before blending.
Do not skip the tiny pinch of salt because it makes the watermelon taste even sweeter.
If you want a slushy texture, freeze half of the watermelon cubes first.
Here is your reminder that simple can still feel special. Love, Made
