Ingredients needed for this Chinese Fried Rice Recipe
- 1 cup of rice
- 1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots mix
- A pinch of salt or half a teaspoon depending on your taste
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 egg
- 2 chopped garlic
- 1 small onion[ chopped]
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil or canola oil
- Dark soy sauce [ use according to your taste]
Directions
First, boil the 1 cup of rice and make sure it’s not sticky. Then put it in a bowl to cool down.
–Prep the other ingredients
-Put your peas and carrots in a bowl and set aside,
-chop your garlic & onions and set aside as well.
Place a wok or large pan on high heat on your stove and;
Add about three and a half tablespoons of vegetable oil or Canola oil then; wait for that to get hot.
Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium so nothing gets burnt;
Fry the onion and garlic until it gets a bit soft which takes about a minute.
Using the same pan, move the onions and garlic on one side so you can add the egg on the other side.
Next, add some salt and pepper to taste then mix and mix it well together.
So at this point, you want to stir it until the egg is no longer runny.
NOTE: Don’t worry too much if the onion gets inside the egg, just keep mixing it.
You have to stir the egg until it’s no longer runny.
Once the egg is no longer runny, Add the carrots and peas, then mix everything well together until the carrots and peas are soft. [Do this on medium to low heat so it doesn’t burn].
Now add the cooked rice
After adding the rice, mix all ingredients well together on medium to low heat.
Next, add one tablespoon of dark soy sauce.
After adding the soy sauce, mix it well until it has blended with the rice.
